Project Update through January 28th

27 Wilson Street, Gloversville, NY

That's Elbert pictured above, one of our high school volunteers, looking through the back door or did one of the other volunteers lock him out.... hmmm.

Lots of work sheet rocking was completed on the 28th. We are so excited that all the bedrooms are just about complete!! With our new drywall lift on site, it is now a pleasure to put up the ceilings. The kitchen ceiling is done and the dining room and laundry ceilings only have a couple of small spots left to do. Hopefully, our upstairs bath and hallway will be completed next weekend and be ready for Ernie, our volunteer taper, to finish the upstairs. Then it will be ready for prime and trim out.

We will be making a big push to finish the walls in the kitchen next week; our cabinets are due in on the 8th. Any help we can get unloading them will be greatly appreciated!! The trucking company will give us a 4 hour window of when they will arrive from the Albany warehouse. We will get the times up as soon as we can.

Pat, our electrician, stopped by for a short time Saturday and installed a couple of live outlets on the first and second floors. We don't have to run lines up from the basement in order to work anymore! Thank you from everyone, you made our jobs a lot easier today!!!

We have been busy so new photo's of our progress have been on the back burner for a while. We will make a special effort to get some photos up this week so everyone can see our amazing progress!

At this point we could use some Corporate sponsors help with "in kind" donations of a few items. Especially needed are donations of paint and primers if anybody has any contacts. We are going to try contacting a couple of large suppliers in the area. Any leads as to anything that might be available in the area, would be greatly appreciated!!

Next scheduled workday is February 4th. If anyone has time available during the week, we are always ready to put together some additional workdays. If we can get 3 or 4 people together on the same day, we can almost always be able to set something up. If you have an organization or church group that would like to donate some time to a worthwhile cause, we would love to have you come work with us.

Fundraising Partnership

Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County would like to announce a fundraising partnership with "Chad Andrews’ and his "Morning Zoo radio program on WIZR AM930 and Z96.5. Chad is selling "The Morning Zoo with Chad Andrews" tee shirts for $19.95 to promote his program and to help Habitat further their mission. All of the profits from the sale of the tee shirts will be donated to Habitat.  Tee shirts are black, have an oval logo with claw marks and "the Morning ZOO with Chad Andrews on the front and in HUGE letters on the back - "Chad Andrews ZOO CREW". If you would like to show your support for the Morning Zoo, Habitat or both - go to www.930wizr.com to order your tee or click the link below. On the website you will be able to securely make payment using PayPal and shipping is free!

Habitat would like to thank WIZR and Chad Andrews’ "Morning Zoo" for their generous offer to help Habitat raise money for housing for Fulton County families in need!

Next workdays -

Thurs. & Fri.,

Feb. 2nd & 3rd

9:30 am

Looks like we will again have the help of the Walmart crews!! They will be here both Thursday and Friday this week (2/2 & 2/3) - if all goes well. Hope the weather continues to cooperate!!

If any of our regular volunteers are available we could use your help as well. Thursday we will be getting another (hopefully the last) shipment of sheetrock at about 9:30am. Even if you only have an hour of two to spare, we can use some help getting the materials in and positioned for the installation work.

Sat., Feb. 4th

8:30 am

More sheetrock... the cabinets are coming and we need to get the kitchen finished before we get the call that they are on their way!

Any time at all you may have for us will be greatly appreciated!!

Lunch will be served again this week thanks to our volunteers.

Come join us when you can, leave when you have too.
