About Us

Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the county one house at a time and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat for Humanity continues to be a source for improving substandard housing.  To date we have placed seven families in decent affordable homes in Fulton County.  We are able to achieve this accomplishment by having the support from the people in our community.  We are volunteer based, with no employees. Our Board, Committees and Volunteers are truly committed to our cause.

Established in 1991, the Fulton County chapter is financed by private donations from individuals, community groups, corporations, charities, foundations, schools, and religious organizations.  Government funds are not accepted for new construction, renovation or repair of existing houses.  Funds for acquisition of land or houses, street construction and utilities are accepted from the government.

If you would like to volunteer to be part of our organization, donate or become a project volunteer please contact us.  You may email us or give us a call at 518.773.4912.

Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County

Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County is located in the beautiful northeast in the state of New York, at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.  People come to our area to vacation or visit friends and family.  Many visitors ultimately decide to make the area their home because of the beautiful surroundings and slower pace of life.

Beyond the picturesque scenery and quiet way of living, there is an issue of poverty.  Of the 55,000 people who live in Fulton county, 12.5% live at or below poverty.  The evidence of this would be the deteriorated housing in our area.  Neighborhoods that once flourished are now riddled with condemned and/or unsafe homes.

Habitat for Humanity has been a source for improving substandard housing worldwide.  In Fulton County, to date, we have placed seven families in decent affordable homes. We were able to successfully complete these homes by having the support of the people in our community.

Without a paid staff, Habitat of Fulton County depends on the support of our our truly committed Board, committee members, volunteers, donors and sponsors to accomplish the Habitat mission.   We encourage you to contact us so we may have the opportunity to discuss this critical matter in our community and explain how you can help eliminate substandard housing in Fulton County.

Please share our mission with a friend.  A little word of mouth could help us achieve our goals.
